Brothers participated in the second Adopt-A-Spot Clean-up on 43rd St. near the campus of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA today. Adopt-A-Spot is part of the Keep Norfolk Beautiful program sponsored by the Norfolk Environmental Commission (NEC), a non-profit organization and a branch of the Cith of Norfolk Department of Public Works.

The brothers of the Hampton Roads Alumni Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi (an international business fraternity) participated in their first Adopt-A-Spot Clean-Up on 41st Street (by ODU) from Killam Ave to Powhatan Ave. A large number of trash and recycling bags were filled throughout the day. The chapter was congratulated by the Old Dominion University Police (Photo above) for their efforts.
The brothers of the Hampton Roads Alumni Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi met at the ODU Tri-Cities Center in Portsmouth, VA on Feb. 9th for the first General Body Chapter Meeting of 2013.
Activities, accomplishments, and lessons learned for 2012 were reviewed and discussed, dues were collected, and officer nominations took place. All unopposed tickets were immediately inaugurated. (Executive President: Amber Watson; VP of Administration: Keisha Littles; VP of Finance: Jacob Powell). Congrats to our new and second-term officers. Contested positions, including Executive Vice-President (Candidates: DeAndre Littles & Sonya Veale) and Parliamentarian (Candidates: Alicia Farrow & Chris Stoney), will be put to an electronic vote via member invite. The ballot will close on Saturday, February 16th at 12PM. Chair positions for the 2013 calendar year will be appointed by the President. The positions will include Community Service, Fund Generation, Professional Activities, and Brotherhood. If you are interested in holding one of these positions, please notify the President via Email <[email protected]> with a brief summary as to why you would like that particular position no later than Friday, February 15th COB. HRAC Strategic Planning ProjectAs mentioned in the meeting, The President will begin working on the Strategic Plan for 2013-14 calendar year. If you are interested in working on this project, please understand that it will take consistent participation and dedication. Outreach ProjectWe have recently received an Excel Spreadsheet of over 300 names/contact information (phone numbers) of brothers in the Hampton Roads Area from Mr. Edward Greene. This project will involve reaching out to Alumni on the list and informing them of an upcoming meeting, as well as updating their contact information.
