On Saturday evening, brothers gathered at the Bier Garden in Olde Town Portsmouth, to socialize and celebrate springtime.  In honor of spring, many wore their pastel colors.  The activities began with dinner and beverages at the Bier Garden.  Other brothers joined as the celebration moved to nearby Brutti's and later to Baron's Pub.  The group was pleasantly greeted by the owner and chef who kept the restaurant open for ten brothers who stopped in.  At Baron's, brothers were entertained with live music throughout the evening.

Overall, the event had an excellent turnout and HRAC hopes for even more as we gear up for our annual picnic next month!

The first general body meeting of 2014 was held on Saturday, February 15 at the library on the campus of Christopher Newport University.  Fifteen brothers attended the meeting.  Elections were held for 2014 officers and chairpersons.  This was the first election where the group incorporated a private, electronic ballot.  The 2014 officers are as follows:

After the meeting, brothers gathered at Schooners to enjoy brunch and beverages while mingling with some of HRAC's newest members.

On Friday, January 24, brothers gathered at fellow HRAC member, Jody South's house to celebrate the second anniversary of the Hampton Roads Alumni Chapter.  This was a pot luck event with tasty treats for everyone -ranging from pizza and pork barbecue to homemade mac and cheese, veggie trays, taco dip, brownies, and gluten-free cake pops.  Brothers mingled and played games throughout the evening.

Brothers gathered at The Cove at Oyster Point City Center in Newport News for Happy Hour -the first of many upcoming "Social Seconds" brotherhood activities.  Social Seconds provides a social outlet for brothers to get to know each other a little better.  This is also a great opportunity for prospective members to join us and learn about the alumni chapter.

The Happy Hour event at The Cove fell on the same weekend as Christopher Newport University's homecoming.  Many Iota Pi alumni joined us at the event since they were in the area.

The Brothers of the Hampton Roads Alumni Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi met at AJ Gators on Thursday, July 18th in Virginia Beach for a Brotherhood Happy Hour
